This is the artist's statement for the new pieces purchased by USC, Seuss and Horton.
Layers of brush strokes, writings, scratches, bits of random travel debris, and photographic images infuse the wooden panel with the spirit and energy of temporal and spatial collaboration. Past and future land in the present, entwined in the painted language. In this series, I see the circles as worlds of diverse cultures and as people whose lives and souls intersect--swirling in their individual ambitions, struggles, beliefs and joys. Here worlds and individuals overlap, relinquish, and influence one another with grace.
